Captain Marvel 2

Captain Marvel 2

A sequel to 2019's Captain Marvel is officially being created by Marvel Studios with Brie Larson quick to return as Carol Danvers – and the latest news is that the eagerly-awaited venture has recruited another director in Candyman's Nia DaCosta.

The past film was significant for being the principal female-drove film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and when on to net over $1 billion around the world, so it's nothing unexpected that another performance excursion is being planned for the Avenger.

When will Captain Marvel 2 be released?

The film is presently slated for a potential 2022 release date, according to The Hollywood Reporter – meaning that we don't have too long to wait until the arrival of Carol Danvers.

Be that as it may, it's unclear whether the progressing coronavirus pandemic and delay in various Marvel movies could impact Captain Marvel 2's own release. We'll update you when more details are revealed.

What will Captain Marvel 2 be about?

One thing we know: it will be set after the primary Captain Marvel. Notwithstanding, what's less clear is whether it will take place previously or after Carol's subsequent appearance (Avengers: Endgame). There's a decent chance that it'll dig into the universe of the villainous Kree and their history with Carol Danvers, claiming they'll be back for her.

How Spider-Man: Far From Home may indicate the storyline of Captain Marvel 2

Larson has communicated enthusiasm for the sequel presenting Ms Marvel, who's been building a gigantic fanbase in the comic-reading world, thus the character getting her own arrangement on Disney+.

It may appear glaringly evident to make a film that genuinely integrates Danvers into the established, contemporary setting that most others already possess, but at the same time it's been proposed that Captain Marvel 2 could be set before Avengers: Endgame, explaining what Carol got up to in the interceding years.

While this may appear to be strange, this is largely what Marvel has planned for Scarlett Johansson's Black Widow film, which is set between 2016's Captain America: Civil War and 2018's Avengers: Infinity War, however, whether Captain Marvel 2 leads into the occasions of the hybrid or whether it ought to by and by taking place in the nineties remains to be seen.

Megan McDonnell, a staff author on WandaVision, is composing the sequel, after reports that the original's co-essayists and directors Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck won't return for Captain Marvel 2.

In the director's chair, the couple will be replaced by Nia DaCosta, who as of late helmed a reboot of frightfulness classic Candyman.

Who will star in Captain Marvel 2?

You can expect Brie Larson to return, yet there's an awesome chance that she'll be joined by an altogether new cast of characters. It's been proposed by Larson herself that a sequel could feature the character of Kamala Khan/Ms. Marvel in her theatrical presentation. Maybe this infers a cross-pollination with the up and coming show on Disney+, yet very little has been said.
